This work uses images of food to tackle concepts of overconsumption in our society. How quickly do we consume media in large amounts through the internet and social media? By playing with symbols, titles, and industrial materials, she critiques how quickly information is disseminated through our culture and how we automatically genderize objects and tasks. Speed comes with its own consequences— such as the overload of information and options. Similar to eating that last bite of cake knowing you’ll be sick from it moments later, this work suggests the feeling of willful self-indulgence.
